What are the requirements for Graduation?
To earn the undergraduate bachelor's degree, a 体育菠菜大平台 student must satisfactorily complete 120 semester credit hours. All students are required to meet a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C) in the student's major /minor, comprehensive major, or teaching endorsement area/s. Individual departments may establish higher GPA requirements.
The total credit hours needed for the undergraduate bachelor's degree include the hours required to fulfill the General Studies program, the course/credit hours required in the student's chosen major/minor, comprehensive major, teaching endorsement, etc., and 40 credit hours of upper-division courses (300-400 level). Transfer students must complete a minimum of 32 semester credit hours of 体育菠菜大平台 courses. Students should refer to the appropriate 体育菠菜大平台 catalog and consult their academic advisors concerning these and other graduation requirements. How do I review my degree requirements?
Students should access their degree audit through MyBLUE. The audit summarizes institutional requirements, the General Studies Program, and the student's designated major and minor program of study. In order to graduate on time, students are encouraged to routinely check their degree audit to ensure completion of institutional requirements and to consult with their academic advisor to review progress toward meeting degree requirements. Students should review the audit carefully and discuss any questions with their advisor or a staff member in the Registrar's Office. Seniors (89+ earned hours) may request a senior check two semesters prior to their intended graduation date.
If a student has taken a class that is to be substituted for a required class, a written substitution from the department chairperson must be submitted to the Registrar's Office and fully processed before the student can be approved for graduation.
How do I apply for graduation?
Graduation applications for both graduate and undergraduate students are available online on MyBLUE. Once the application is completed via MyBLUE, a $25, nonrefundable, application fee must be submitted to the Finance Office.

What if I miss the application deadline?

Can I participate in a graduation ceremony the semester before I actually graduate?
Students must have all required coursework completed or in-progress to participate in commencement. With a commencement ceremony at the end of each academic semester and summer, students should plan to participate in the ceremony that coincides with the completion of all degree requirements. Students will not be allowed to march in an earlier ceremony.

What is included in the Commencement program?
In order to celebrate the exemplary accomplishments of our graduates, notations will be placed in the commencement program recognizing students who have earned certain academic honors. The notations are limited to those honors that are not discipline-specific, but are available to students in all academic areas. Such university-wide recognitions include Latin honors, Mortar Board, the Honors Program, and Phi Kappa Phi.
Honors and awards given specifically to students in a particular program should be recognized at the college honor convocations or other special events held for students in a specific program of study.
How do I qualify for University Honors?
The University of Nebraska at Kearney confers graduation honors on undergraduate students who meet the following qualifications:

The above grade averages are computed on the basis of a minimum of 60 semester hours' credit earned and completed in residence at 体育菠菜大平台. Courses taken during the semester in which the student plans to graduate are not used in determining honors for commencement. When final grades for the semester are received, the students' final honors standing will be calculated and recorded on the permanent record. Grades and credit hours earned at colleges or universities other than the University of Nebraska are not applicable in determining graduation honors.
Transfer Students Only: A minimum of 45 credit hours must be completed at 体育菠菜大平台 prior to the final semester, and registration during the final semester must be sufficient to complete a total of 60 credit hours at 体育菠菜大平台 if the student wishes to be identified in the commencement program as an honors graduate candidate.
Is there special recognition of students who qualify for University Honors?
Students graduating Cum Laude and above will receive medallions at the honors breakfast, hosted by the Chancellor, on the morning of graduation. Graduates may pick up medallions when lining up before the ceremony if they are unable to attend the breakfast. Honors breakfast invitations will be issued to qualifying graduates. More detailed information can be found in the undergraduate catalog.
What if I am taking transfer credit from another institution during the same term I am planning to graduate?
You will need to request official transcripts from your transfer institution to be sent to the 体育菠菜大平台 Registrar's Office after official grades have been posted. Your diploma will not be released until the final transcript is received from the transfer institution. However, you are still eligible to participate in the ceremony.
When will I get my diploma?
If you are participating in the graduation ceremony, you can pick up your diploma immediately following the ceremony, as long as all degree requirements have been met and no holds have been placed on your account.
If you have a hold on your diploma, you will be mailed the diploma as soon as all issues have been cleared.
If you are not participating in the graduation ceremony, you can pick up your diploma after 3:00 p.m. in the Registrar's Office located in Warner Hall, as long as all degree requirements have been met and no holds have been placed on your account.
If you cannot pick up your diploma or if you have a hold, you will be mailed the diploma as soon as all issues have been cleared.
